Connection with future jobs is ensured by following three key directions:
- Tight relation between teaching and careers : the programs bring together photonics educational institutions which maintain solid relationships with international laboratories and industrial network
- Access to identified emerging fields making the 21st century future advances in Photonics : imaging, quantum optics/nanophotonics, photonic materials and devices.
- Close relation with the major actors in Photonics at the European level : societies, networking platforms.. The members of the consortium promote each year photonics in training and research at the international level.
Strong industrial relationships exist with important interests in the Photonics field.

The CD6 center (“Center for the Development of Sensors, Instrumentation and Systems”, of UPC ), in Barcelona, is pushing forward an initiative for creating a local cluster SECPhO (Southern European cluster in Optics and Photonics). This cluster currently embeds over 40 industrial partners, from small and medium enterprises to large multinational players. Collaboration agreements are being established and signed, in the present year, with an increasing number of companies, in particular associated to the SECPhO cluster. PhD projects involving real relationship with companies are propitiated when possible, and in these cases appropriate agreements are signed between the companies and the center. Particular care is taken regarding intellectual property management.
